Butter White Sugar Eggs Molasses (dark) Flour Baking Soda Nutmeg Cinnamon Allspice Buttermilk |
1 cup 1 cup 4 1 cup 4 cups 2 tsp 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp 1 cup |
Steps:
1) Cream butter and sugar. 2) Add eggs, beating well after each addition 3) Stir in molasses 4) In another bowl, sift dry ingredients together 5) Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to the molasses mixture 6) Cover and store in refrigerator; will keep for several weeks. To bake, set in muffin tin or in square pan into oven at 350°F for 20 minutes. |
